Sports and Activities

  • Across the year, we hold monthly weekend pick up games and activities in 7 alternating sports plus 1 fitness activity.

    • Our most popular sports are: Climbing, Flag Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball; plus we offer

    • Clinics to try out new sports: Ultimate Frisbee, Track, and Dance.

    Did you know?

    • Sports are non-gendered and are typically sorted into ages 5-12 (elementary) and 13-18 (teens for middle/high school).

    • Most pickup games and clinics are $5 unless marked as free. Climbing Days are typically $5 a head. Note: Some event locations may charge their own fee.

    • Please sign up ahead of time or drop-in! Dates are spread across the calendar year, so bookmark our upcoming events page and grab a seasonal schedule.

  • Our process to attend any Unmatched event is as follows:

    1. Sign up to attend each event ahead of time on Eventbrite.

    2. In order to participate, at the start of your first event, complete our one-time household intake packet (required). To save time, you can also fill this out ahead of time on Docusign. Just scroll down to select ‘Intake Form.’

What’s in the packet? First, the basics, like a sports participation waiver and a photo waiver. Next, we ask for household contact info, pick-up/drop-off, code of conduct, and demographic data.

    3. Please consider a $10 donation. And if you’re able, become an annual member for $25 a household.

  • In addition to hosting pickup games at fields and gyms, we are grateful to coordinate field days and presentations with local schools, centers and community groups:

    • Movement Gyms to hold LGBTQ+ Youth Climbing Days at a different Movement East location every last Saturday of the month. Scroll down to learn more.

    • Y of Central Maryland to hold 4 events at various centers; promote volunteer opportunities; and table at events like Healthy Kids Days.

    • Howard County Public Schools, to improve language and promote equity and inclusivity in sports; train and offer professional development; serve on an advisory board; and develop workshops and where able, field days, class visits, and talks.

    • Stonewall Climbing, to volunteer, table and help belay at Climbing Days; and partner on events.

    • Stonewall Sports, to promote volunteering; cross-promote upcoming events; offer organizational support; and develop a couple of events together.

Free Rideshare

One of the challenges we want to address is to procure enough funds to assist families that do not have a consistent means of transportation to attend our events. We have heard from a number of parents and youths who have expressed an interest in attending our events but experience difficulty doing so due to a variety of circumstances such as scheduling, not owning a vehicle and distance. Approximately 98% of all the parents who have attended our events with their child(ren) own at least one vehicle.

We want to reach out to the population of households who have issues with transportation and/or may be preoccupied during weekends to attend any of our events with or without their child(ren). Rides to/from events will be available to a select number of families, via Lyft promo code. Youth must be accompanied by a permitted adult in order to ride.
